comp.coop is a worker-owned tech company seeking to disrupt the venture capital model that keeps cooperatives and other worker-led businesses from accessing the technology they need. Poised to step in at transformative moments, comp.coop acts as a Chief Technology Officer when you need one, with pricing and service models that allow worker-led businesses to access world class tech.
Co-founders Greta and Andy met during their tenure as developers at Google, but bonded over their shared interest in collaborative work and cooperative businesses. After both leaving the company, they never canceled their weekly 1:1 meeting, knowing that they wanted to continue their professional relationship. They decided to create a worker cooperative based on their shared goal of taking a transformative approach to an established industry. To get started on their project, they contacted Anna, an old friend of Andy’s with an extensive background in business consulting and content writing, for advice on setting out. But after one conversation, it was clear she had a place on the team, and the next day, the three of them began their work together as comp.coop. The team at comp.coop consists of experts in front end engineering, back end engineering, data integration, web design, copywriting, visual design, and business development. Our software development team brings expertise gained at Google, Verily, and other major tech companies. But while our skill sets are diverse, we’re united by our commitment to supporting the worker-owned sector through a model of solidarity and accessibility.
